A spreadsheet of receipt numbers isn't tracking.
One lookup at a time
The USCIS website checks one receipt per search. A list of 300 takes hours to go through.
Typos hide
A mistyped receipt number simply returns nothing, and it can sit in a spreadsheet for months unnoticed.
No memory
USCIS shows the current status only. Without a record, you can't tell what changed since last week.

How USCIS receipt numbers work
The format
A USCIS receipt number is three letters followed by ten digits, such as IOE0912345678. The letters identify the USCIS office or system that received the filing. Online filings commonly start with IOE; paper filings use prefixes for the office that received them.
Where to find it
The receipt number is printed on the I-797C receipt notice, near the top left. Online filers also see it in their USCIS account. Every form in a package gets its own number.
Why a receipt may not be found
New receipts sometimes take a few days to appear online. Others are simply mistyped. When a receipt keeps returning no result, check it against the notice before assuming anything is wrong with the case.
Questions firms ask us
How many receipt numbers can we track?+
Plans cover up to 120 or 400 active cases, with custom pricing above that. Firms run CaseTracker on caseloads of well over a thousand receipts.
What if USCIS can't find a receipt number?+
CaseTracker retries it automatically and keeps it visible on your dashboard, so you can check for a typo or wait for a new receipt to appear.
Can we track receipts from any USCIS office?+
Yes. Any receipt number the USCIS case status system recognizes can be tracked.
Can we export our receipt list?+
Yes. Export your cases and their status history as CSV at any time.
Can we try it before paying?+
Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial for up to 20 cases, no credit card needed. Plans after that are $100 a month for up to 120 active cases and $150 a month for up to 400, with custom pricing above that.
